Hashar – A Cherished Tradition of Unity
In our culture, hashar—a community clean-up initiative—is a cherished tradition that has withstood the test of time. It reflects the unity and solidarity of our people. As spring arrives, especially in the days leading up to the Navruz holiday, nationwide hashar efforts are organized. During these activities, irrigation ditches are cleared, trees are pruned and whitewashed, new saplings are planted, cemeteries are maintained, and neighborhoods are cleaned of litter.
In this spirit, on March 20, staff and students of the Faculty of General Medicine organized a hashar on the university grounds. Students actively took part by whitewashing trees and cleaning the surrounding areas. Faculty members from the Department of Language Teaching Methodology also participated actively in the clean-up initiative.
